Texas Tech Red Raiders defeated the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday night improving the Red Raiders chance at a trip to Omaha.
Caleb Kilian was the starting pitcher for the Red Raiders. In a little over five innings, he allowed four hits and Louisville’s only two runs. While he managed to retire the Cardinals in order in the opening frame, the second inning was not so easy. He began the inning with runners on 1st & 2nd after an error & walk, but was able to get out of the inning unscathed. Both teams remained scoreless until the third inning.
Cody Farhat put the Red Raiders on the board, thanks to a single up the middle from Gabe Holt. Josh Jung worked a full-count walk to load the bases for Little who also walked and scored Braxton Fulford, followed by Brian Klein’s run on a balk. In the fourth, Gabe Holt’s RBI double down the left field line scored Michael Davis and Klein’s two RBI single to right center scored Holt and Fulford.
Killian would finish the day onky giving up four hits and two runs in 5 1⁄3 innings.
In the sixth, Little doubled to left center scoring Jung. Cameron Warren reached on a fielding error allowing Little to score. Josh Jung would later crush a two-run homer to end the game, 10-4.
