Has anyone noticed how big our offensive line is for the upcoming season?
I mean, offensive linemen are always the biggest guys on your team, but it seems like this batch is, like, exceptionally large. Which is a good thing, of course.
Zach Adams is no different. Standing 6’6 and weighing in at a solid 320 pounds, Adams is entering his sophomore year expecting to become a key part of the o-line. He redshirted his freshman year in 2016, and last year saw action in all 12 games on field goal protection. He also stepped in on multiple occasions as a reserve offensive lineman.
Hailing from Fredricksburg, VA, Adams was a four-year varsity football player and earned a spot on the 6A First Team All State as a senior. He chose Texas Tech over Penn State, Oklahoma, TCU, Miami and a host of other power-5 programs.
Depending on how well Adams performs in the preseason, he may have a chance at cracking the starting lineup. Tech has a pretty talented veteran offensive line as it stands, so he may have to wait one more year before he becomes a full time starter, but it’s ultimately up to him.
