The Texas Tech Red Raiders are going to Omaha! They defeated the Duke Blue Devils on Monday afternoon, 6-2.
Texas Tech used four pitchers on Monday afternoon. Starting pitcher was Davis Martin who pitched for three innings. Three hits, one run, one error, two walk, and had four strike outs. He finished the game with an ERA of 4.50. Ty Harpenau took over in the fourth inning. He allowed four hits, one run, one error, one walk, and had three strike outs. He finished the inning with an ERA of 3.38.
Jose Quezada was only on the mound for a very short while. He was replaced by John McMillon after a walk. McMillon in turn pitched for two innings allowing two hits, no runs, no errors, and two walks with two strike outs and an ERA of 4.01. After a walk to begin the ninth inning, Dylan Dusek took over for McMillon to finish the game.
The first run on the board for Texas Tech came thanks to Gabe Holt’s home run to right field. This was Holt’s 6th home run of the season. Michael Davis followed with his 12th home run of the season. It was two RBI homer to right center that also allowed Zach Rheams to score. Brian Klein also had a home run, his fourth of the season. In the eighth, Gabe Holt’s RBI single through the right field scored Cam Warren. Josh Jung’s RBI single to right field advanced Brian Klein to third and allowed Holt to score.
