The Pokes finished the season 29-22-1 after having the Big 12 regular season title literally swept away by the Red Raiders. Oklahoma State is currently projected to be a two seed in D1 Baseball’s most recent tournament projection. While the Cowboys are a lock in the tournament, they have lost eight of their last 10. A tournament win would go a long way in turning the ship around.
Texas Tech

The Red Raiders came out of the finals break swinging (no pun intended) as they outscored the Cowboys 30-13 in last weekend’s sweep. Texas Tech is firmly locked into a Lubbock regional, however if the Red Raiders could find a way to break 40 wins this week, then they should be a lock for a national seed as well.
Texas

The Longhorns took home the Big 12 Title and a number one seed in the Big 12 tournament. (Thanks to their friends in West Texas). Like Texas Tech, the Longhorns are a lock to host a regional. Unlike Texas Tech, Texas doesn’t have the possibility of a national seed to play for. Even still, a couple of wins in the tournament could go far in helping Texas build momentum for the big dance in June.
TCU

The Horned Frogs finished 30-22 but sixth in the Big 12 after the injury bug reared its ugly head. TCU was swept by Texas to finish the season and does not appear on the D1 Baseball tournament projection at all. Basically, it’s do or die time for the Horned Frogs as the only way left into the tournament is to win the Big 12 championship and secure the automatic-qualifiers. Missing the postseason is not something the Horned Frogs are used to and there is still a lot of talent on the TCU roster. I see TCU as a dark horse candidate to win the tournament.
