The Texas Tech Red Raiders completed the sweep against Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon.
Caleb Kilian was starting pitcher for the Red Raiders. He allowed four hits and three runs in four innings. John McMillon was next on the mound. In 51 pitches, he allowed one hit and three walks. Jose Quezada was the last pitcher of the afternoon.
Gabe Holt was first at bat and immediately had a solo home run to center field. This was the second time this season that he started the ballgame with a home run. A double to center field from Zach Rheams also scored Josh Jung and Brian Klein. Cam Warren’s double off the right field wall cleared the bases and allowed Davis and Rheams to score.
Oklahoma State entered the series as the conference leaders, however Texas Tech played spoiler and after three straight losses OSU will finish second in the Big 12 (You’re welcome UT). Tech will finish the season in third place, but sweeping the conference leaders has to feel good for a team gearing up for a College World Series run. Head coach Tim Tadlock will hope this momentum carries over into the postseason.
