The Texas Tech Red Raiders won their second in a row in Stillwater on Friday night where they defeated Oklahoma State 14-6.
Davis Martin was starting pitcher for the Red Raiders. In two and a third innings, he allowed four earned runs on seven hits and one walk. He also had just two strikeouts in 68 pitches. Ty Harpenau took over for Martin. He allowed one run on one hit while striking out six and walking four. Caleb Freeman came in to close the game and pitched two and a third shutout innings.
The Red Raider opened their onslaught in the second inning with a home run from Zach Rheams. This is Rheams’ 13th home run of the season. Down 3-1 in the third, Josh Jung had a two-run home run to left field that scored Brian Klein to tie the game. Cody Farhat, in the fourth, followed with an RBI single to right field to score Michael Davis. The clutch performer of the evening was Grant Little with two home runs and six RBI. The first three run home run gave Tech their first lead of the night, 7-6, scoring Josh Jung and Brian Klein. Little’s second home run was another three run home run in the sixth to put the game out of reach, 11-6. To cap off the evening, Brian Klein got in on the fun and hit a solo shot in the 9th to push Tech’s run total to 14.
The final game of the series is Saturday at 1:00 PM.
