There is a rule somewhere that if you hit a walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning that you automatically win Hitter of the Week. Zach Rheams did just that. He hit two home run balls this week that unofficially went a combined two miles.
The senior DH has locked down the DH job over the past two weeks with his home run power. Several hitters attempted to fill this role with limited production. Rheams is second on the team with six home runs this season in only 18 games played and hitting .326 for the season.
This week, he hit .429 with two home runs and four RBIs. In addition, he scored an incredible six runs for a middle of the order power hitter.
The other two players in contention this week were Gabe Holt and Cameron Warren. Holt had one monster game to start the Kansas series off. He went 3-5 with four runs, six RBIs, and one grand slam in that game alone. Warren had a strong overall week with a .400 average, four runs, five RBIs, and one home run.
