The Texas Tech Red Raiders faced TCU Friday night in Fort Worth.
The starting pitcher for the Red Raiders was Davis Martin, who pitched for four innings. He allowed five hits, five runs and six walks during that time. Ty Harpenau replaced Martin in the bottom of the fifth. In three innings, he had three strike outs and did not allow a single hit or run. To finish the game, the Red Raiders used Caleb Freeman.
A groundout by Holt put Texas Tech on the board in the third inning with a run from Michael Davis. Cameron Warren’s RBI double to left field in the fourth allowed Little to score. A double to right field allowed Gabe Holt to score and it was quickly followed by a fly to right field from Grant Little which allowed Cody Masters to score in the fifth to give Tech the lead. TCU would go on to score three straight runs to finish the game. The final score was 6-4 with TCU coming out on top.
Game two of the series starts at 8:00 pm on Saturday at Lupton Stadium.
