The matchup

After a short break, the Red Raiders are back in action taking on the West Virginia Mountaineers in three game set. Texas Tech comes into the matchup 21-5 after a four game sweep of Northeastern University which brought the Red Raiders back to the top of the RPI.

West Virginia comes in 9-12 on a four game losing streak after a tough road series against Oklahoma. Last year, the Red Raiders took the series 2-1 in Morgantown

Players to watch

Junior OF Darius Hill leads the Mountaineers with 23 hits in 90 ABs. He’s batting .256 and has nine RBIs and two home runs on the season

Junior OF Braden Zarbnisky has a batting average of .327 with 17 hits on 52 ABs. He’s recorded six runs and four RBIs in 14 starts

Prediction

Texas Tech struggled hard in the road but has since bounced back. After a week of rest they should be more than prepared for the Mountaineers, who are have a tough season. As long as Tech can be productive out of the bullpen, then there shouldn’t be any reason the Red Raiders don’t sweep the Mountaineers. Tech wins the series 3-0

Saturday: 7-3 Texas Tech
