Hitter of the Week: Josh Jung

The ball was flying out of the park all weekend for the Red Raiders.

What a needed weekend for the Red Raiders. Last weekend this team struggled to produce any runs against a surprising Baylor team. It seems that coming back to the friendly confines of Dan Law Field was exactly what was needed to get the bats going once again.

Two hitters hit over .500 or better for the four game series, Josh Jung, and Cameron Warren. Three batters had over nine RBIs or more Jung, Warren, and Zach Rheams. All three also had at least two home runs.

Trying to choose between Jung, Warren, and Rheams is incredibly hard. Warren had the highest average of the three, hitting .538 including two home runs. Rheams had the lowest average hitting .385 but he also had three home runs in three different games. One of these was a grand slam in the opening game of the series. Finally, Jung just seems to do it all. He hit for average .500, scored eight runs, 12 RBIs, and also had two home runs.

As hard as the decision is there must be only one winner because this is sports and ties ruin everything. For his high batting average and incredible run production, Josh Jung is this week’s Hitter of the Week.
