The No. 8 Texas Tech Red Raiders finished the series against the Baylor Bears with a win.
Ryan Shetter was the starting pitcher for the Red Raiders. In two innings, he allowed two hits and three runs. Shetter also recorded one strikeout. He was relieved by Ty Harpenau in the third inning. He allowed five hits and one run in four innings. Caleb Freeman entered the game in the seventh inning. In two innings pitched, he allowed two hits and no runs. Kurt Wilson finished the game for the Red Raiders with no hits or runs allowed.
Grant Little doubled to right center allowing Clay Koelzer and Gabe Holt to put the Red Raiders on the board. The fourth inning was an exciting one starting with Gabe Holt’s single to center field scoring Zayne Willem. Later in the inning, Michael Davis doubled to left center allowing Gabe Holt and Cody Masters to score. Zach Rheams hit his first homerun of the season over the right field wall. In the fifth, Cody Farhat tripled to right center allowing Cody Masters to score for the second time in the game. Josh Jung singled up the middle for another RBI scoring Cody Farhat. Finally, Grant Little’s sacrifice fly allowed Michael Davis to score and earn 2 RBIs this game. Little finished the game with 3 RBIs.
The final score for the Red Raiders was 11-4. They face Northeastern on Friday at 6:30 pm in Lubbock.
