NCAA Basketball: Big 12 Conference Tournament-Texas Tech v Texas Amy Kontras-USA TODAY Sports

The Texas Tech Red Raiders have earned a No. 3 seed and will take on the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks in Dallas on Thursday.

SFA posted an impressive 28-6 record this season, finishing third in the Southland Conference. The Lumberjacks best win of the season was an 83-82 victory against LSU, and came within a bucket of beating Mississippi State and Missouri, both on the road. Their worst loss was a 22-point blowout at the hands of conference rival Lamar.

The Lumberjacks are No. 35 in the nation in scoring, averaging 81 points per game. You can bet they’ll have a tougher time scoring against this Red Raider defense, but they have some guys who can put the ball in the basket.

Junior guard Shannon Bogues is the team’s leading scorer, averaging 15.4 points per game. Kevon Harris and T.J. Holyfield are the other two Lumberjacks scoring in double figures on a regular basi, averaging 14.6 and 13 points per game, respectively.

SFA always fields a strong team and shouldn’t be overlooked. We’ll dive into this matchup deeper soon, so stay tuned for more updates.
