The matchup

The Red Raiders travel to the River City to take on the Road Runners of UTSA in Tech’s first road trip of the season. This is the 12th meeting between the two ball clubs. The Red Raiders lead the all time series 9-2.

The Road Runners come into the weekend after a 2-1 series over the San Francisco Dons ( L 2-11, W 11-1, W 13-5). UTSA had a midweek matchup with ACU that was cancelled due to weather which means this will be the first time the Road Runners will play in almost a full week.

Players to watch

Ryan Stacy led the Road Runners with a .500 batting average on opening weekend. The outfielder recorded four hits, including three runs and two RBIs

Chase Kang recorded five hits on opening weekend and a .385 batting average.

The prediction

UTSA has some solid batters, but the pitching staff will not be up to the task of holding off Tech’s offense. Josh Jung will have a big weekend again and the Red Raiders sweep the Road Runners in San Antonio.
