Anyone thinking it might take a while before our bats get heated up were obviously mistaken after what went down this weekend. The Red Raiders scored a total of 49 runs in four games. Including a four-homer, nine-run inning to open up the second game. With this type of fire works going off at Dan Law Field, there are obviously tons of hitters to choose for our weekly honor.
You could choose the Freshman phenom, Gabe Holt, who in his first D1 series batted .500 with 8 total hits. Those hits included a home run, triple, and two doubles. All the while leading off and being 3-3 on stolen bases.
Another strong option would be sophomore left fielder, Grant Little. Little batted .538 with eight runs scored. He was double machine this weekend with four doubles in the four games.
Finally, Josh Jung came out on fire to start the season. He hit .588 this weekend with three home runs and 10 RBI’s. His 10 total hits lead the team as well. He currently leads the team in batting average, hits, home runs, and RBI’s.
While there are several strong contenders this week only one hitter can come away with the coveted prize. This week the hitter of the week is none other than Mr. Josh Jung (We refer to someone as Mr. when they hit three home runs in 3 days).
The reason is simple, chicks dig the long ball.
