Four games played, four victories, 48 hits, and 49 runs: those are the numbers Texas Tech obtained from the opening weekend against Maine. And after three days, fun fact, the Red Raiders are the only undefeated team in the Big 12.
In the last game of the series, the Red Raiders erupted in a fantastic offensive performance, scoring 21 points led by third baseman Josh Jung, who had four hits and five RBIs. He closed this weekend with 10 hits (of which three homers), 10 RBIs, and 7 runs in 17 at-bats.
On the mound, junior Erikson Lanning didn’t have his best day, allowing six runs (four earned) in 2.2 inning, and was relieved by Jose Quezada, who got the win. The latter, like Caleb Freeman, Ryan Sublette, and Connor Queen, didn’t allow runs.
