After a dominant first part of the Saturday doubleheader against Maine, the Red Raiders also won the second game of the day, as a 9-point first inning was the cornerstone for a 12-5 victory. Consequently and obviously, the Red Raiders are now 3-0, waiting for the final game of the series, scheduled for today, Sunday, at 1 p.m. at Dan Law Field.
Texas Tech put up a show in the first inning, as four home runs were hit by, respectively, second baseman Gabe Holt, left fielder Grant Little, first baseman Cameron Warren, and shortstop Michael Davis. John McMillon was the winning pitcher, after five solid innings in which he only allowed two hits and one earned run, striking out seven opponents. Reliever Richard Gilbert gave two runs to the Black Bears, while John Henry Gonzalez had a clean inning.
