Trae Young and many other things in coach Beard’s thoughts

NCAA Basketball: Texas at Texas Tech Michael C. Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

On Monday night, coach Chris Beard, senior forward Tommy Hamilton IV, and junior center Norense Odiase spoke with the media about the upcoming game against Oklahoma, that will take place tonight, Tuesday, at 6 p.m. at the United Supermarkets Arena.

Coach Beard obviously started talking about Trae Young, the best players on the Sooners’ roster, as he had a good game against the Red Raiders in January (27 points). The coach knows he’s a talented player, but his team performed well defensively against Kansas State and hopes to extend this streak.

Among many other things, he also shared his ideas on the momentum the Red Raiders are gaining, on the attention they’re having on contesting three-point shooting, and on the role senior guard Justin Gray is having this season.

In addition, Tommy Hamilton confirmed that the team’s continuing to work and train very hard despite the record, while Norense Odiase thinks that in a month the team improved its defense, and this will be the biggest difference from the first game against the Sooners.
