When Chris Beard took over in 2016, the Texas Tech Red Raiders had not secured a ESPN top-50 recruit in more than eight years. Now, Beard and the Tech staff have landed top-50 players in back-to-back seasons.
Jahmius Ramsey is the highest recruit in Texas Tech Basketball history.
Jahmius Ramsey is a big-time pickup for Chris Beard. Athletic scorer, and the word I most commonly hear used to describe him: beast. Beast on defense, beast on the boards for a guard. Craziest part: he is going to get five times better under the training of elite Tech coaches.

Ramsey is a fantastic athlete. The 6’4 guard will add an offensive dimension to Tech that Red Raider fans haven't seen in years.
Big time addition for @TexasTechMBB in Jahmius Ramsey (@newanimprovedJR) this morning.

Ramsey picked Tech over multiple impressive Power 5 offers, including Indiana, LSU, Baylor, Florida, and others.
We’ll post a more in-depth article this afternoon on exactly how Ramsey will fit into this Tech program and what to expect from him in terms of impact during his freshman year.
Until then, go ahead and celebrate the fantastic news. This program is really going to be a force in the Big 12 for years to come under the best hire in Tech basketball history.
