Recently, Jarrett Culver has been named as the 56th best player in college basketball by S.B Nation. In his Freshman season, Culver was a role player who scored 11.2 points per game. Flash forward to today, Culver is the only returning player on Chris Beard’s team who averaged double digits in scoring.
In his Sophomore season, Culver looks to make improvements in all aspects of his game. In a preseason press conference, the sophomore said that he would like to improve his leadership skills along with improving the physical parts of his game. Jarrett stated that this year he will have more of a leader mindset. Culver also said that he would describe himself as a vocal leader.
With the departure of Keenan Evans, Zaire Smith, Zach Smith, and Niem Stevenson, Jarrett Culver will be forced to step into a much bigger role.
Culver and his Red Raider teammates will open the season on November 6th against Incarnate Word.
