Offensive player of the week: injury didn’t slow Carter down

Texas Tech quarterback showed heart against Baylor.

NCAA Football: Texas at Texas Tech Michael C. Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

Even after re-injuring his ankle during the game against Baylor, quarterback McLane Carter showed us a glimpse as to why he was named the starter this year. He completed 21 passes on 37 attempts for 247 yards, with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. He even connected with Ja’Deion High on a 54-yarder to put the Red Raiders up early on the Bears. Carter’s game wasn’t perfect, but he did well considering he didn’t have a lot of playing time this season.

He showed grit and heart and that’s why he’s our offensive player of the week.

Congrats, McLane!
