The conference schedule travels fast, and there’s no time to celebrate an awesome week that sent Texas Tech into the top 10 for the second time in the program history (93 seasons). The most difficult week of the year is starting, with the trip to face No. 9 Oklahoma and the home game against No. 2 West Virginia on Saturday.
Before traveling to Norman, coach Beard spoke with the media, obviously focusing on the Sooners’ most dangerous player, Trae Young, son of former Texas Tech guard Rayford Young, who played in Lubbock from 1996-97 to 1999-2000.
He discussed his ideas to limit Young, but at the same time, he admitted the Sooners are a complete team, maybe one of the best teams in the nation at the moment. Among many other things, he also gave updates on Zach Smith’s injury.
Alongside him, freshman guards Zhaire Smith and Jarrett Culver shared their opinions with the media.
