This is most likely due to the man who recruited him and coaches his position, Jabbar Juluke leaving Tech to take the same position at The University of Louisiana. This is a major blow to the Class of 2018 recruiting class as this is the second running back who has decommited from the Red Raiders this season.
This also leaves the future of the running back position uncertain for the Red Raiders, as Tre King, Desmond Nisby, and Demarcus Felton will be graduating after next season. This leaves only Da’leon Ward, a running back who has been struggling with academic eligibility and never saw the field in 2017 after having a great season as a true freshman in 2016.

Look for Kliff Kingsbury and his staff to recruit really hard to get Tazhawn Henry, a running back who recently decommited from TCU. Kingsbury could also try and recruit tons of Junior College transfers after not landing a freshman running back for two years.

With Brumfield reopening his recruiting and leaving his future in Lubbock uncertain at best, this leaves the future of the running back position at Texas Tech in doubt. It will ultimately be on Kingsbury to get Brumfield back or he may decide to switch paths and go after different running backs altogether, only time will tell.
