A player had 38, there was an amazing comeback, and to top it all off, we got the game-winning shot at the buzzer. What a great night in Lubbock as the No. 10 Texas Tech Red Raiders outlasted the Texas Longhorns by a score of 73-71 on overtime. This is the second overtime win of the season for the Red Raiders and with this win, they stay undefeated at home this season.

Keenan Evans was the only Red Raiders player in double figures tonight, a huge turnaround from the sub-par performance the last time the Red Raiders and Longhorns got together. Texas’ Kerwin Roach II was the lead scorer for Texas as he had 20 points and four rebounds. Mohamed Bamba fouled out at the end of the regulation period but ended with 12 points and 10 rebounds for the Longhorns. Bamba also had 7 blocks, which is an amazing stat and a Longhorns’ single-game record. He was swatting shots left and right tonight and is by far the best inside presence in the Big 12. With every game, he is looking more and more like the NBA prospect that he was recruited to be.

The Red Raiders seemed to take control of this game in the middle of the second half. They had a 13 point lead with time for a comeback. Although it was a huge disappointment to see our Red Raiders give up a lead like that for the first time this season, it was great to see them overcome adversity and ultimately win the game. Norense Odiase and Tommy Hamilton IV both had much better games than they did in the last match-up in Austin. After their combined 0 points and 2 rebounds, they both responded big time as Norense Odiase had 11 rebounds and Tommy Hamilton IV had 8 points and 7 rebounds.
Player Of The Game - Keenan Evans
Who else would it be? Keenan Evans played what was probably his best game this season. His 38 point, 4 rebound, 3 assist game led the Red Raiders to their sixth Big 12 and their 18th overall win of the season. Keenan was 18-20 from the free-line tonight and had 52% percent of the points for the Red Raiders tonight. Oh and let’s not forget that he had the shot to end the game.
Keenan’s last three games: 2️⃣6️⃣ points, 3️⃣1️⃣ points and 3️⃣8️⃣ points. Three W’s.

The Red Raiders showed tonight that no matter the adversity, the team won’t quit and will fight till the very end. Keenan Evans has reaffirmed his place among the nation’s best guards with his amazing performance tonight. The Red Raiders next face the TCU Horned Frogs in Fort Worth on Saturday afternoon. The Red Raiders, who have won 3 games in a row, will look to improve to 7-3 in conference play. Here’s the buzzer beater with the Celine Dion’s iconic song, “My Heart Will Go On.”
