Big 12 power rankings: A new leader at the top

TCU’s win against Oklahoma State in Stillwater have a lot of teams #FearingTheFrog

NCAA Football: Texas Christian at Oklahoma State Rob Ferguson-USA TODAY Sports

1. TCU Horned Frogs (+2)

A convincing win against Oklahoma State was more than enough to move the Frogs from No. 3 to No. 1.

2. Oklahoma Sooners (-)

Probably would’ve moved OU up if they took care of business against Baylor, but the near-loss to the conference’s worst team doesn’t get the job done.

3. Oklahoma State Cowboys (-2)

Mason Rudolph didn’t look like a Heisman winner in a home loss to TCU.

4. Texas Tech Red Raiders (+1)

An impressive win at Houston, but the real test comes this week against Mike Gundy and the Cowboys.

5. West Virginia Mountaineers (+1)

The defense looked bad against Kansas, but how ‘bout that Will Grier, y’all?

6. Texas Longhorns (+1)

The Horns had a bye week and likely spent time trying to figure out their identity as an offense.

7. Kansas State Wildcats (-3)

The Cats were on a bye week as well, but that ugly 14-7 loss to lowly Vanderbilt doesn’t do the team any favors.

8. Iowa State Cyclones (-)

Iowa State has a chance to move up with a win against Texas at home this week.

9. Kansas Jayhawks (-)

The Jayhaks got thumped by West Virginia, but at least their offense looked decent.

10. Baylor Bears (-)

Baylor put up a good fight against an Oklahoma team that overlooked them, but it’s not enough to pull the team out of the Big 12’s basement.
