Texas Tech has the same academic standards as most D1 schools require. Being lax on accountability could fall on the coaching staff or the fact they don’t have leaders on the team encouraging their peers to attend class. Ward is a solid example. And, Jason, you will definitely not hear me pump sunshine when it comes to taking a scholarship for granted. Then again, we can’t hold their hands. And it absolutely hurts the program and themselves individually, but sometimes it takes longer for kids to realize the fact that not everybody goes pro and having this opportunity is a blessing.
It’s never wrong to be excited for potential growth and improvements. Not all hope is lost. However, I would dim the flame a bit. I would say we can only go up from here, but there are ways that could not be absolutely for certain. But, yes, defense wins championships. So, let’s lean toward hopefully being pleasantly surprised.
Travis, that is a solid question. You could argue both and unfortunately it was a scrimmage. It’s hard to judge. I am more concerned about the offensive line seeing the turnover we had this offseason.
Can you put in a good word for us to get a Whataburger up in Iowa?

I say you bug Whataburger on Twitter ruthlessly and we’ll do the same.
Which is better in your opinion, Six Flags over Texas, or Six Flags Fiesta Texas?

Six Flags over Texas. Why? The “New” Texas Giant.
If the #big12 break up, where will #TexasTech end up?

I see Tech ending up in the PAC and hopefully not in a revamped Southwest Conference.
If Kliff loses this year what are the percentage chances of each of these four coaches landing in Lubbock?
— Chris Davis (@beaumontceltic) August 17, 2017
Combie, McNeil, Monty, Briles?
Cumbie - 30%
McNeil - 10%
Monty - 10%
He who should not be named - 50%
Should Tech focus on recruiting transfers or recruiting kids out of high school
— ChulpaBatman (@tehoverlord) August 16, 2017
Both. It depends on the quick gaps that need to filled and if more experienced players fit the bill. There are benefits in having fresh athletes, but also experience.
