Vegas released its College Football Conference odds and Tech once again found itself near the bottom of the Big 12 in likelihood it’ll win some hardware.
Check out the full list of odds below:
NCAA Football 2017 Season - Odds to win the Big 12 Championship
Oklahoma 5/6
Oklahoma State 3/1
Texas 5/1
Kansas State 6/1
TCU 12/1
West Virginia 20/1
Baylor 33/1
Texas Tech 50/1
Iowa State 100/1
Kansas 500/1
As you can see, Tech is not viewed as a legitimate contender for the conference championship.
At the top, it’s the usual suspects. We all know Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are the clear frontrunners to bring home a conference title. Below those two, however, things start to get interesting.
Clearly Vegas respects Tom Herman and what’s he’s doing down in Austin, because a third-place finish for the Longhorns seems a bit ambitious. But Texas certainly has the talent, so who are we question Vegas’ predictions.
Kansas State coming in fourth place is a bit surprising to me. I like Jesse Ertz at quarterback, but enough to put the Wildcats ahead of TCU, West Virginia and Baylor? I’m not so sure.
I think Tech can finish above West Virginia and possibly Baylor, depending on how depleted that roster truly is after the catastrophic meltdown in Waco.
Oh, and Kansas at 500/1 odds? Heck, I’ll throw down a $10 bill. It’d be the easiest $5,000 I ever made. But also the easiest $10 I’ve ever lost. Haha. Have a good weekend, y’all.
