The football staff has stayed busy on the recruiting trail lately by attempting to fill needs for the 2017 roster and extending offers for future prospects. Two of the biggest holes received patches recently with the commitments of JUCO DE Quentin Yontz and of OL Jajuan Dulaney, a graduate transfer from Maryland.
The staff has obviously put an emphasis on getting better and deeper in the trenches heading into next season. Expect them to continue monitoring the graduate transfer market for help inside.
The Red Raiders also secured their first 2019 commitment via South Oak Cliff DE Steven Parker. Parker received his first offer from Texas Tech and committed shortly after.
Several offers were extended to members of the 2018 class as well. The headliner is a 4-star QB from California named Adrian Martinez. Martinez already holds numerous Power 5 offers and, given Kliff Kingsbury’s reputation for finding and developing QB talent, will be a hot commodity moving forward.
Two 3-star 2018 linebackers, OLB Xavier Benson from Texarkana and ILB Cameron Wilkins from Del Valle, also picked up offers from Tech over the last week.
A 3-star DT, Israel Antwine, rounds out the list of offers for defensive players. On the offensive side, 3-star TE Bralen Taylor and unranked OT Jacob Farrell have been offered.
