Above average. Seeing that Chris Beard just added a solid guard to his first recruiting class yesterday with the addition of 6’3 Avery Benson, I believe Beard is building for the future. Beard had several close games last season and hopefully with more consistency in addition to more Big 12 experience, the close games will be clutch wins. Now, if Tech will be patient enough to see how his vision evolves, who knows? See Mark below. The fact that there is even a mention in Beard having a leash is a problem. It’s only been ONE YEAR!

Reasonable expectation would be to win a bid for the NCAA Tournament. Tech had a lot of close games last season and some of the losses should have been wins. I believe Beard can close the gap.

Mahomes is different because of his willingness to learn. Humility is a trait several QBs do not posses, especially transitioning from college to the NFL. Also, much could be said about the weak offensive line and running game at Texas Tech. With a balanced offense, Mahomes can have the opportunity to get comfortable in the pocket.

Over.

Yes! I think a minimum of six wins is attainable for Texas Tech football. If not, there is a serious problem.

You make a valid point, Cody. Dave Aranda should be in the mix having coach Top-10 defenses for the past three years. Tech typically defaults to flashy, traditional coaches with a personal connection to Tech with more hype behind them, so I would not be surprised if Aranda is on their radar. Not to mention, Tech doesn’t recruit defense coordinators. Tubs was the exception.

Definitely brisket if it is a late game. If it is an early kick off, chorizo burritos.
