The Red Raiders played their final home game of the season on Senior Night. Tech coach Chris Beard took the opportunity to honor his five seniors by inserting them all into starting lineup.
Most of the first half was played sloppy by both teams, but towards the end of the half Tech began to settle in. Forward Aaron Ross led the way scoring 12 points and two of four from three. At the half, Tech led Texas 34-29.
The second half was all Texas Tech. The Red Raiders stretched the lead out to around 10 points and it only grew as the game went on. With just under six minutes to play, Tech extended the lead to around 12-14 points the rest of the way.
- Guard Keenan Evans was the leading scorer with 18 points. He also was an impressive 10-10 from the free throw line.
- Tech was 24-50 (48%) from the field, 4-13 (31%) from three, and 15-19 (80%) from the free throw line.
- Turnovers were about even in the game. The Red Raiders had eight and the Texas Longhorns had nine.
- Tech won on the boards 33 to 28.
Next up, the Red Raiders will close out the regular season at Kansas State on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
