Texas Tech was looking for answers entering the first Big 12 game of the season, playing against a higher-ranked Baylor team that was expected to be a tough challenge for Keenan Evans and company.
In fact, this never happened, as the Red Raiders never trailed during the game, had a 12-0 run late in the first half that led to a 40-19 score at the halftime, and sailed to the victory with a solid second part of the game.
Evans led the team in points, with 18, while three other players, Naim Stevenson, Jarrett Culver, and Zhaire Smith, had double-digit performances. Stevenson was also the top assist man, with five, and Tommy Hamilton IV had seven rebounds.
The Red Raiders now will have their first Big 12 away game, as they’ll travel to Lawrence to face the Kansas Jayhawks, on January 2nd at 8 p.m.
