There are normal places and special places in the world. Undoubtly, coach Beard had his meeting with the media in a very special place, surrounded by special people, on Monday, as he spoke from the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum, house of the Red Raiders from 1956 to 1999.
This location was selected to promote the game that will take place there on Saturday, December 19th, as Texas Tech will face Rice at 7 p.m. Along with him, there were former Red Raiders center Andy Ellis, former player and coach Bubba Jennings, and Athletic Director Emeritus Gerald Myers.
Coach Beard specified there’s another game this week, anyway, as Kennesaw State is the next opponent. The Owls are coached by Al Skinner and, despite their record, cannot be underestimated.
