AP Top 25: Stirren, very stirren

The biggest week of the season gives us a brand new ranking

NCAA Football: Clemson at Syracuse Gregory Fisher-USA TODAY Sports

What a week! Seven ranked teams lost to unranked opponents, including two top-five teams and two other top-10 teams. Consequently, the Associated Press ranking was totally rewritten, as only one team maintained its former position, Alabama at #1.

Clemson and Washington lost their places amongst the five best teams in the country, as Penn State climbs to the second place, Georgia reaches the virtual podium, and TCU and Wisconsin unexpectedly break into the top-5.

In addition, the Big 12 has three teams into the top 10 plus a fourth team at #23, West Virginia, that knocked off Texas Tech after their recent victory. The Red Raiders still obtained 2 points, and they’re tied with Iowa, Navy, and South Carolina in 32nd place.
