Basketball Open Thread: LSU (9-10) at Texas Tech (14-6)

The Red Raiders and Tigers face off in the Big 12/SEC Challenge today at 1:00 PM.

Ray Carlin-USA TODAY Sports

'Member when Ben Simmons, arguably the best player in the NCAA last year, played for LSU? I 'member. The Tigers weren't that great with him and they're even worse this season. LSU has lost 8 of their last 9 games, which includes them losing their last 6. Texas Tech is on a two game skid themselves and will look to bounce back when the Tigers come to town.

This game gives the Red Raiders a bit of a break from the tough Big 12 conference. While it is a break, the Tigers can't be taken lightly or they'll find themselves in a mess of trouble. LSU's only win in their last 9 games came against Missouri who is 5-14 and winless in SEC play. Texas Tech is heavily favored in this game, the line is currently at 15.5. While I don't think the Red Raiders cover that, I do expect them to pull off the win at home where they're 12-1.
