Well this was a weird one. First we missed about the first eight minutes due to troubles with ESPN’s feed. Then when ESPN finally got the game broadcasting we found Tech down big and playing poorly on offense and defense. To make things even weirder it was Star Wars day at the game. Without out a doubt this is the most disappointing loss of the season. OSU had not won a single conference game this season, but they came to Lubbock and dominated us. Texas Tech is a bubble team for the NCAA tourney and a loss like this could be what lands them in the NIT. Of course all is not lost and there is plenty of hoops left to play.
OSU led by as many as twenty one points in the first half and at the break Tech was down 46-30. Tech did fight back to get the lead down to around ten points, but could never get over the hump and OSU pulled away. Here is the complete box score.
Here is Coach Beard’s press conference. He talks about how the team probably didn't take OSU seriously. Beard said the game was lost in the first half and I highly doubt anyone disagrees.
