I really believed all week that Tech would and should win this game. TCU is a much improved team this year, but we are a more talented and experienced team. Tech came out hot in the first half and lead by as many as twelve points. TCU had to feel good about only being down eight points at the half considering they were outplayed most of the way. At the break Tech lead 41-33. Tech lead the entire game until the 14:41 mark and then the game became an absolute dog fight. For about the last eight minutes of the game Tech was in the bonus and that was probably the difference in the game. TCU had their chances in the last two minutes, but never could make a big shot.

Game Notes:

  • During the broadcast tonight it was mentioned that Odiase has been officially shut down for the season and Tech will apply for a medical redshirt. The good news is we will have him longer, but the bad news is we need all hands on deck this year as we push for the coveted NCAA tourney bid.
  • Gray, Smith, and Evans were all fantastic tonight combining for 57 points.
  • Tech was 25 of 31 from the free throw line. Tech was in the bonus starting at the 8:43 mark in the second half.
  • It is fantastic to be 12-0 at home, but if we do not steal a couple of games on the road we will be on the outside looking in come tourney time.

Next up the Red Raiders will face Oklahoma State on Saturday at 1:00 pm on ESPNU.
