What’s Happening in Raiderland This Week

What a time to be alive!

Texas Tech Remains Undefeated at Home.

The questions about our defense that arose following the loss to Arizona State were not answered in full, but Texas Tech seemed to command the game for the majority of it. Patrick Mahomes had a field day with the Bulldogs’ secondary, and Jonathon Giles might be the breakout star no one saw coming. Compared to their performance last week, the defense showed improvement against a decent running game from Louisiana Tech. The Red Raiders have a bye week before they meet the Kansas Jayhawks in a Thursday night match-up to begin Big 12 conference play.

Red Raider’s Match with Loyola Marymount ends in Tie, Win Their Game Against Aztecs.

The 24th ranked soccer team met Loyola Marymount for the first time this past Friday. Their match ended in a 1-1 tie. After that contest, the Red Raiders traveled again to face the San Diego Aztecs on Sunday. After a late own-goal by the Aztecs, Texas Tech was able to capitalize on defense and make their 1-0 lead a final score.

Tevin Madison No Longer On Team.

In what seemed to be a surprise for many, Don Williams of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal tweeted out that “Kliff Kingsbury confirms DB Tevin Madison is no longer on the team”. Not much information has been revealed about the situation, but we do wish the best for Tevin on his future endeavors.

A Couple of Red Raiders Missing Action Due to Injury.

Keenan Ward, D.J. Polite-Bray, and Terrence Steele were all being evaluated for their injuries suffered in the Louisiana Tech Game on Sunday. Zach Barnes missed his second straight game, but is also being evaluated. We wish them all the best on their way to recovery. We’re going to need these guys going into conference play.

Texas Tech’s Gametimes in Cancun Challenge Announced.

Following that contest, they will either face Purdue or Utah State at 5:00 or 7:30 PM CT on November 23rd.
