Former Texas Tech DB JJ Gaines is coaching at North Lamar

We all know that old NCAA commercial. You know, the one about people who go pro in something other than sports. Well, former Texas Tech DB JJ Gaines is moving on to shape young lives with the North Lamar Panthers.

Gaines had three picks in his senior year and gained Honorable Mention All-Big XII honors in 2014. He's headed to a school in North Lamar that will need some help winning at home, as their 5-5 record in 2015 included 4 home losses. JJ Gaines was as consistent as you can be on a Texas Tech defense, which is about all you can ask for out of a defender after the past couple of years.

Good luck to JJ in everything he does. He'll be missed in Lubbock.
