Jackson was a three-star strong side defensive end prospect out of Mckeesport, Pennsylvania before signing with the Red Raiders. He held offers from prestigious football schools such as USC and Oregon, but chose the Red Raiders instead.
At Texas Tech, Jackson was a multi-year starter, and opened up 35 games at defensive end for the Red Raiders. He was a team captain in 2015, and logged 4.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks in his senior year. His most statistically dominant year was 2013, notching 9.0 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks for a Texas Tech team that started 7-0, dropped its last 5 regular season games, then took top-10 Arizona State behind the woodshed.
Best of luck to Branden in Oakland, enjoy California and being able to hang out with DeAndre.
