The Red Raiders and Longhorns tip off at 1:00 PM in Austin.

Michael C. Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

The Red Raiders picked up a much needed last second win against Oklahoma St and look to keep the momentum going against Texas. Speaking of momentum, Texas has a ton right now. Since losing to Texas Tech the Longhorns have gone 7-2 and are receiving votes in the polls. Can Tech complete the regular season sweep though?

Unfortunately, to watch the game you have to watch it on the Longhorn Network at 1:00 PM.

Texas Key Players

Category Stat Name
Points/Game 15.4 G Isaiah Taylor
Rebounds/Game 10.0 C Cameron Ridley
Assist/Game 5.0 G Isaiah Taylor
3pt Made/3pt % 37/94, 39.4% G Javan Felix
Free Throw % 105/135, 77.8% G Isaiah Taylor

The Longhorns have learned how to play without their key big man Cameron Ridley. Prince Ibeh has stepped up, he's averaging 4 points a game and 5 rebounds. The offense is ran through Isaiah Taylor as he still leads the team in both points and assists, he lead the team in both categories the first time the two teams met up. The last time the Longhorns and Red Raiders played Javan Felix was hitting 50% of his 3-point attempts but since then his percentage has dropped 10%. No much has changed player wise and style since the last match up so let's see if Tech can get another win.

Last 5 Games

1/20 #6 West Virginia W 56-49
1/23 #3 Kansas L 76-67
1/26 TCU W 71-54
1/30 Vanderbilt W 72-58
2/1 #15 Baylor W 67-59

As I mentioned before, Texas has been on a roll as of late by going 7-2 since their last matchup against Texas Tech. The Red Raiders on the other hand have gone 2-7. Texas has been able to pick up key wins against West Virginia, Baylor and Iowa St. Texas Tech was in it until the end with all those teams but just weren't able to close out. The Longhorns did lose to TCU a few weeks ago so they do still have some flaws.

Prediction

Texas Tech 76 - Texas 80

The Red Raiders are facing a tough Texas team in Austin. While Tech has some momentum, Texas has more and this is a game in Austin which is always a tough place to play. Expect this to be a very physical game as both teams head into the matchup needing a crucial win.
