Tech takes Game 4, 12-0

Strong offense plus a great pitching performance results in another victory for the Red Raiders

1. Red Raider of the Game

For the 3rd game of the weekend, the player of the game goes to the Tech starting pitcher. Erikson Lanning had a fantastic collegiate debut with 6 innings pitched, allowing only 1 hit and 0 runs. He was able to get several ground balls, and the infield played well behind him to keep the slate clean.

2. Play That Impacted the Game

In the 1st inning, Raley had an infield single, and then the next 3 Red raiders would reach, 1 on a walk and 2 were hit by a pitch. The next 2 batters would result in an out and the Panthers pitcher would be an out away from getting out of a jam. Long would hit a shot to left and score 2. Another great start to the bottom of the 1st inning.

3. Stat of the Game

4 of Lanning's 6 innings went 1-2-3 as he was able to set down the Panthers in order.

4. Forgotten Play of the Game

Michael Davis, playing 2nd had a great bullet to 1st, throwing Eric Solberg out at 1st. The infield play this series was very strong, the only blemishes being a few errant throws.

5. Big Reason Tech Won the Game

Once again, an opportunistic offense combined with a stifling pitching performance resulted in the Red Raiders outhitting their opponent by a wide margin, this time by a score of 15-2. Scoring 7 runs in the 8th sure helped things along as well.
