The outcome of the game wasn't shocking, but the way it played out was. After the way the Red Raiders played against Iowa State I felt like they had a chance to win, but not like this. The Red Raiders have struggled mightily on the road, so to see them blow out a ranked team absolutely floored me. I mentioned after the Iowa State game that Tech was growing up. Beating a really good Baylor team the way they did offered more proof of the growth. The offense has found a way to flourish without Odiase in the lineup and the defense gets better every game.
"Whether it's Top 25 or not, we're getting better. Our players are maturing and starting to understand, and they're experienced enough to know what we needed to do in order to win. ... They're getting stronger, and getting smarter and getting better." - Coach Tubby Smith.
It is now officially time to be excited about Tech basketball! There are 6 conference games left and if Tech can win 3 of them, the NCAA tourney may be the prize.
- Keenan Evans was the leading scorer with 21 points (a career high). He has been on fire the last three games.
- Tech was 23 of 28 (82%) at the free throw line.
- There were 4 players in double digits. Smith, Gray, Ross, Evans.
- How about the excitement on the bench? It was fun to watch all the players on the bench going crazy when Tech made good plays. Check out the highlights of the game below.
