The Red Raiders have rebounded after their loss last week against Auburn. Texas Tech now sits at 6-1 and host Rice who is also 6-1. Will the Red Raiders keep rolling or will they find themselves in a tight one against the Owls?

Rice Key Players
Category | Stat | Name |
Points/Game | 22.6 | G Marcus Evans |
Rebounds/Game | 8.4 | G Egor Koulechov |

3pt Made/3pt % | 18/34, 52.9% | G Egor Koulechov |
Free Throw % | 32/36, 88.9% | G Marcus Jackson |
If you look at the Owls' stats, their guards are leading in all the key categories. Marcus Evans is playing lights out, he's putting up around 22 points per game and has an average of 5 assists to go along with it. Egor Koulechov is leading the rebounding category with around 8 a game and is making close to 53% of his 3-point attempts. The key for the Red Raiders is to slow down both Evans and Koulechov.
Last 5 Games
11/19 Omaha | W 100-87 |
11/21 Montana State | W 83-78 |
11/23 Delaware State | W 80-58 |
11/26 Incarnate Word | W 87-79 |
11/30 Houston Baptist | W 90-77 |
Rice has played both Incarnate Word and Houston Baptist this season. They beat both by a combined total of 21. While neither was a big blowout like the Red Raiders wins, they were solid wins. The Owls' one loss was a 71-68 upset to Texas Southern who is 4-3 on the season. Rice hasn't played any tough competition yet, so the Red Raiders will be their first true test.
Prediction
Texas Tech 73 - Rice 63
The Red Raiders are keeping teams to right around 58 points a game this season which is best in the Big 12 and 5th in the nation. I believe the Owls make it into the 60s but just barely. Texas Tech's big men have an upper hand in the paint since Rice is guard-driven team, so I expect Livingston and company to have another solid game. The line is currently 12.5 in Texas Tech's favor.
