Texas Tech athletics have a big week at hand. Men's basketball looks to upset a struggling Texas squad in a first round matchup in the Phillip's 66 Big 12 Tournament. Baseball is going to attempt to turn things around after a rough weekend against Cal State Fullerton that saw Texas Tech lose 3 straight games. Softball is riding a 3 game win streak into this week's games and is going to try to keep the momentum going.

Wednesday, 3/11 8:00PM CST
Big 12 Men's Tournament, Kansas City, MO
Tech (13-18, 3-15) looks to pull off the upset against Texas (19-12, 8-10) in a first round matchup in the Big 12 tournament that pits #10 Texas Tech against #7 University of Texas. Many look at this as a must-win for Texas who has been struggling as of late. A first round loss to Tech might ultimately put them into the NIT. Texas Tech has nothing to lose so I would imagine they come out firing. Let's hope our Red Raiders can pull it off and keep the season going.
#14 Texas Tech (10-4) vs New Mexico State (1-12), 3/10-3/11
#14 Texas Tech (10-4) at San Diego State (13-3), 3/13-3/15
After a weekend sweep to Cal State Fullerton the team looks to get back on track starting with New Mexico State. As a result of the tough weekend Tech fell to #14 in this week's Baseball America rankings, dropping 9 spots. Texas Tech (10-4) hosts New Mexico State (1-12) to a two-game series 3/10-3/11. New Mexico State's weekend series against Northern Kentucky was cancelled due to inclement weather and has not played a game since March 4th. This series should provide Tech with an easy way to get things back to normal. After the two home games Texas Tech travels to San Diego to play San Diego State (13-3) in a three-game series this weekend 3/13-3/15. SDSU travels to Long Beach State on 3/10 to play one game before they host Tech.
Texas Tech (12-12) at UTEP (6-19), 3/11 2:00PM CST & 4:30PM CST
Texas Tech (12-12) vs Mississippi Valley State (2-13) & Tulsa (11-7), Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic 3/13-3/14
Texas Tech (12-12) rides a 3 game win streak into El Paso this week as they play UTEP (6-19) in a double header. Even though UTEP's record isn't impressive they too have won 3 straight. After their trip to El Paso the team returns to Lubbock to play host to the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic. Mississippi Valley State (2-13) and Tulsa (11-7) come to town to play a round of games over a two day span.
