Texas Tech and Sam Houston State tip off tonight at the USA at 8:00 PM.

The Red Raiders are off to a hot start and sit at 4-1 after picking up a nice win this past Saturday against Hawaii. Sam Houston State on the other hand isn't doing so well. The Bearkats are 2-4 and are looking to jump-start their season.

Sam Houston State Key Players

Category Stat Name
Points/Game 15.2 G Dakarai Henderson
Rebounds/Game 7.8 F Torry Butler
Assist/Game 3.0 G Jalin Barnes
3pt Made/3pt % 12/39, 30.8% G Dakarai Henderson
Free Throw % 25/33, 75.8% G Dakarai Henderson

Guard Dakarai Henderson leads the Bearkats in scoring, 3-pointers made & attempted, and free throws made & attempted. Don't let those stats fool you though. Henderson is shooting a mere 35% on the year and is only making 30% of his 3-point shots. The Red Raiders shouldn't be too threatened by him since he's a high volume shooter who isn't converting at a high rate.

11/29 Wiley L 67-66

Sam Houston State is off to a bad start to their 2015 campaign. They lost their last outing against Wiley College. I wasn't even sure where Wiley was, but I found out it's a small Methodist-based college in Marshall, TX with a student population of 1,400. The Bearkats will come out looking to improve on their lousy performance that's for sure.

Texas Tech 84 - Sam Houston State 70

I expect the Red Raiders to smell blood in the water and dominate the Bearkats in all aspects of the game. Look for Texas Tech to pick up their first double-digit win of the season.
