Beckie Ready for World Cup. Janine Beckie is set to play for Canada's U-20 team in her World Cup debut:

"It is such a blessing being here," said Beckie, who will likely start at forward in Canada's first match of pool play. "This has been my dream for as long as I can remember and it still doesn't feel real to me that this is happening. The World Cup is something every little soccer player dreams of, and the fact that I get to live my dream is something I wouldn't trade for the world."

Texas Tech Set to Play LSU. This should be fun as former Red Raider Josh Gray and LSU will play Texas Tech in Baton Rouge as part of ESPN's Tip-Off Marathon on November 18th at 8:30 pm.

Gregory Signs Two Recruits. New softball head coach Adrian Gregory signed two transfers, one from New Mexico St., Jordan Bettiol, and the other from Nebraska, Devon Thomey.  I think they'll both have to sit out this year, but I didn't read that in the story, so I'm not sure.
