RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE WEEK:

Try something new!

Last week, I outlined several of the new restaurants that have opened since the beginning of the 2013 football season. Since that post, I've realized that I left off two newcomers: Jersey Mike's Subs (6319 82nd St) and The Shack BBQ (2309 N Frankford Ave). I have yet to eat at either of these establishments, but I have heard great things about Jersey Mike's. For instance, it's a sandwich shop that actually has a grill. They also slice their meat to order.

The Shack, according to what I've seen on social media, was essentially started from the ground up. The reviews are great. It looks like they're only open from Wednesday-Sunday for lunch and dinner and are currently cash only. I really need to check them out, especially if I'm on the way to a drive-in movie some time. Can you imagine pulling in to Stars & Stripes with brisket? To hell with popcorn.

The Back 40 Bar & Grill, which was set to open August 28th, has pushed their Grand Opening back to September 5th.

What say you, VTMers?
