At a Glance

My initial reaction is that we have a fairly evenly distributed strength of conference schedule for the season. I think we can take down Texas early on in Lubbock, as our Big 12 opening game on January 3rd. The victory will set the tone for the season. The Big 12 is never easy, but to start out with a huge rivalry win could give the squad some confidence to barrel through conference play.

My favorite part of the schedule is on the back-end when we play 3 of the last 5 in Lubbock. Baylor, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State at home; with TCU, and Baylor again on the road. Everyone knows how we can pull upsets in Lubbock. It’s magical! We beat 4 of those 5 teams in the United Supermarkets Arena last year. Actually, the last 6 games of the season this year are against teams we had victories over once (home or away) last season. Guns Up!

I’m also very relieved that we get Kansas in Allen Fieldhouse out of the way early in the season. They always seem to dismantle us and ruin our mojo. We don’t need that to happen late in the season before going into the Big 12 tournament. Let’s take our biggest ass-whipping of the year quickly on into Big 12 play.

All in all; I am happy with this schedule and feel it can be favorable to our Red Raiders if we keep up what we started last year. I see more conference wins in our future than last year with this schedule. Get ready for some Red Raiders hoops... and WRECK ‘EM TECH!
