The Elite 11 and The Opening. If you ever wanted to know what The Elite 11 and The Opening is and what it's all about, then SB Nation has your primer, as well as information on how to watch it and that sort of thing. You can expect a ton of stories this week on both of these events and you can expect me to somewhat cover this, but probably not as good as I should. I think the problem is that I don't follow any players on Twitter, which either makes me the best fan ever or the worst blogger ever. I'm not sure.

Texas Tech has two commits at The Opening, Jarrett Stidham and Breiden Fehoko.  Since The Elite 11 is the only event happening right you, we'll get quite a bit more information about Stidham today and tomorrow.  Before we move on to Stidham.  Here's a Scout preview of the West players, which includes Fehoko:

One of the top prospects in the West, let alone Hawaii, Fehoko turned in a monster performance at the Oakland NFTC, much like he did a year ago as an underclassmen. The Texas Tech commit is one of three Hawaiian's selected to this year's showcase and will look to continue to make a case as the top prospect in Hawaii in this class.

Now, on to yesterday's Elite 11 (again, this is quarterback only for the first two days) Stidham was mentioned in a 24/7 Sports notebook:

Texas Tech commit Jarrett Stidham was incredibly smooth and natural at everything he did. He has very smooth feet inside the pocket, he is comfortable reading coverages and his arm was accurate all day long.

And also mentioned as one of the top performers yesterday in another 24/7 piece:

Jarrett Stidham - Taking into account both practices, Stidham may have had the best all around day on Sunday. The Texas Tech commit was just clean, consistent and accurate with everything. He also showed a comfort level making the right reads against the few defensive looks they got. **Top performer candidate

I mentioned this yesterday, but will mention it again, Texas Tech quarterback Davis Webb is a counselor at The Elite 11, along with fellow Big 12 mate Bryce Petty.  I think the Baylor folks are still pining a bit to get Stidham, but Petty and Webb have been hanging out together for the better part of the weekend with quarterback guru George Whitfield. I also don't think that players really actively recruit for their teams as that's probably in bad taste in a situation like this and probably leave recruiting up to the coaches.  Plus, The Opening is an event where there are no college coaches and recruiting, so it's probably pretty nice to have a break from all of that and just enjoy the game.

There are likely a handful of guys that Texas Tech is following and two of those guys are Tyron Johnson and Arthur McGinnis, both guys are not committed and I believe that Texas Tech has made their final lists.

Offer Coming for Bailey? Just looking at a handful of things, it appears that Texas Tech and California will most likely offer Coffeyville C.C. cornerback Wesley Bailey:

CB Wesley Bailey. He's got some issues to take care of off the field, and once that gets settled, his offer sheet could receive a major boost. Look for Texas Tech or California to pull the trigger on him at some point if that scenario plays out, and a commitment would come soon thereafter.

You can find Bailey's Hudl video here. There you go.
