Hope everybody had a great, safe and happy 4th of July.

Battle Suspended for November. Texas Tech and Amber Battle released a statement regarding her involvement in the Nigel Bethel, II situation, and announced that she was suspended for the month of November.  Battle acknowledged that she initiated first contact:

"During a pickup basketball game on June 28, I was involved in an incident with Texas Tech football player Nigel Bethel," Battle said. "I initiated the first contact and I take full responsibility for my actions. I want to take this time to apologize to Nigel, the Texas Tech community, my teammates, coaches and fans. Nothing I can say can truly repair the harm I have already caused. I did not represent the Double T like I am supposed to and I promise to hold myself to a higher standard from here on."

The end of the statement says that Texas Tech does not tolerate violence against women and there's been some question about what the zero tolerance policy actually is, whether it is violence altogether or violence against women and I get the idea that it is the latter.

Bethel was dismissed from the football program on Sunday, June 29, for his involvement in the incident. Texas Tech Athletics does not tolerate violence against women.

Powers Set to Resign. Texas Bill President will "resign", whether he likes it or not, very soon:

According to the report from Hamilton, University of Texas System Chancellor Francisco Cigarroa asked Powers to resign and told him if he didn't he would be fired when the Board of Regents meets on July 10. Hamilton reports that Powers said he will not resign. The cause of the issue is reportedly related to UT Austin's admission practices.

Also, you should know why things get leaked or released on July 4th.
