D-Day. Today is the 70th anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 1944.
Phil Steele Hates America. Obviously. Phil Steele released his preseason All-Big 12 team and here's the Red Raiders that he had on his teams:
1st Team: IR Jakeem Grant and OL Le'Raven Clark
3rd Team: IR Bradley Marquez and OL Rashad Fortenberry
4th Team: QB Davis Webb, OL Alfredo Morales, LB Pete Robertson, LB Sam Eguavoen, KR Reginald Davis

ESPN had a rundown of Steele's preseason picks.
Mahomes Will Face Decision. There's a pretty good chance that Texas Tech signee, QB Patrick Mahomes, will be drafted in the MLB Draft, starting tonight and running through Saturday, although I suspect that he'll play at Texas Tech. Especially with the way that drafted players are now essentially slotted and (I think) teams essentially have a pool of money to sign their players rather than an unlimited budget.
Turnovers. If you can stand it, ESPN has a look at the turnovers for the Big 12 from 2011 through 2013 and without a doubt, this is the one area that needs improvement.
Softball to Announce Coach at 10 am. The softball program will announce a new head coach today at 10:00 am. I don't have any details here (and neither does the story) but I seem to recall that the coach might be an assistant coach from a smaller program, like Sam Houston.
Wall in Calgary. I somewhat forgot about this, but it was good to hear about Jamar Wall as he's currently in Calgary and led the team in interceptions last year.
New TexasTech.com. Texas Tech rolled out a new TexasTech.com and I do think it is more pleasing to the eye and certainly more updated. The update is intended to be more mobile friendly and essentially a cross-platform site, which is really good. The initial font was really light and difficult to read, but that's been changed, so that's good. The only thing that I really don't like is how the header sticks at the top for those of us with limited screen space (Hello Chromebook!) it takes up a bit of real estate.
World Cup Preview. SB Nation has a terrific and very pleasing preview of the World Cup.
